| | Question: |
Our company is planning to upgrade it's operating system to a new version of z/OS in the near
future. Will there be any compatibility issues with SystemVision
software?
|
| Answer: |
As far as we know, all of our customers that have moved to the various versions of z/OS have not had
any problems running our software.
Over the years, we have tried to maintain compatibility between old and new
operating systems. So far, we have been successful, and we don't anticipate
any problems when you start using our software on your new system.

|
| Q: |
Because of my company requirements, I must first install
SystemVision in a test environment, then move (rename) it to
our production system. Can this be done with your product line?
|
| A: |
No. The installation process stores many variables, and some
are the names of the datasets where the products were
installed. It later uses these variables to finish the
installation and to create EXEC's for the
product. Unfortunately, a complete reinstallation is required.

|
|
| Q: |
Why is it required that all users have READ/WRITE access to the
ISPTABL dataset?
|
| A: |
That dataset contains all the applications set up by all users of
SVCommands. By having read/write access to it, any user
can take over responsibility from another user.
